RF Adapter, N Female to TNC Female

The N Female to TNC Female adapter is a common coaxial adapter, designed to establish an interconnection between a cable with an N Male termination and another cable with a TNC Male ending. This adapter allows these two different interfaces to communicate effectively, hence expanding their functionality. Most commonly this adapter is either used to join two cables or connect to a terminal-style antenna that has an integrated N Male or TNC Male connector.

In terms of identification, the N Female to TNC Female adapter can be recognised simply as having an N Female connector at one end and a TNC Female connector at the other, joined directly together. These connectors are manufactured from finely machined brass and have a nickel plating. The N Female connector is marked by its central socket and external threading, designed to accommodate the pin and internal threading of an N Male connector. On the opposing end the TNC Female connector also has a central socket and externally threaded body that enables secure connection with a TNC Male’s threading.
