Spark 3G Shutdown & Cel-Fi Products

With the Spark saying goodbye to 3G what can you expect to happen with your Cel-Fi product. 
New Zealand 3G Networks are being shut down to make room for better 4G and 5G services.

When is the Spark 3G Network Shutting Down?

What Cel-Fi products will be affected?
Cel-Fi RS250 is a 3G-only product. Other units will require their settings to be checked - details listed below.

Software Versions
It is recommended to upgrade your Cel-Fi to latest software using the Cel-Fi WAVE App.
For QUATRA 1000, please contact the installer or Powertec for instructions.

Outdoor Donor Antenna
Ensure it is 4G 700 Band 28 / 4G 1800 Band 3 capable (some older installs may be 3G 850 only antennas).

General Comments
It is recommended that changes are done prior to 3G shutdown.

    RS250

    • 3G-only product
    • Recommended replacement is Cel-Fi GO G41-JE

    PRO

    • This can only repeat one 4G band after 3G shutdown
    • Select the better of 4G 700 Band 28 or 4G 1800 Band 3

    GO G31 Mobile

    • This can only repeat one 4G band after 3G shutdown
    • Change to 4G only bands
    • Select 4G 700 Band 28

    GO G31 Stationary

    • This can only repeat one 4G band after 3G shutdown
    • Change to 4G only bands
    • Select the better of 4G 700 Band 28 or 4G 1800 Band 3
    • If you require better coverage, upgrade to the higher power Cel-Fi GO G41-JE

    GO G32

    • This can only repeat one 4G band after 3G shutdown
    • Change to 4G only bands
    • Select 4G 1800 Band 3
    • If you require 4G 700 Band 28 coverage upgrade to the Cel-Fi GO G41-JE

    SOLO H41

    • This can repeat two 4G bands after 3G shutdown
    • Change to 4G only bands
    • Select 4G 700 Band 28 and / or 4G 1800 Band 3

    GO G41

    • This can repeat two 4G bands after 3G shutdown
    • Change to 4G only bands
    • Select 4G 700 Band 28 and / or 4G 1800 Band 3

    QUATRA 1000

    • This can repeat three 4G bands after 3G shutdown
    • Change to 4G only bands
    • Select 4G 700 Band 28 and / or 4G 1800 Band 3
    • Select 4G 2600 Band 7 only when there is good signal available
